During the tour, enjoy the beautiful park of the priory and have a stroll to discover dolmens. Then, visit the small town of Lodève.

Day 1 Lodeve and St Michael priory

In the morning, meet your guide and visit the St Michael priory de Granmont, hidden in the mountain and located on the way to the Rouergue province. During the tour discover the chapel and places where the monks used to live.
Then, the park surrounding the priory would let you the chance to admire wisigothic tumbs , dolmens and sacred places but also deers …
All around the priory, there were a lot of dolmens, proof of human occupation in this area.

Lunch:  Lunch in the surrounds.

In the afternoon, visit the small town of Lodève. This ancient bishopric still preserves a certain charm. Visit the ancient “Soap museum”, nowadays, a place dedicated to tissue and knotted-pile carpets production.
It used to be a soap factory during the late 16th and 17th century and then a royal factory famous for it tissue production. According to the size of the group we may divid it in two.
One group would visit the museum while the other would discover the charming city, its narrow medieval streets and the magnificent St Fulcran Cathedral. Then switch of the groups.
