In the past , it was the principal city in the Narbonnaise's province. With 48 000 inhabitants , Narbonne is the firt city in the Aude's department( for its population ) It was built in the 13 th century .From the cloister, we can see the building's facade, then,we can notice that this cathedral is unfinisched , . Only its choir exists...
Some remains of the antique city Via Domitia This antique road was built in 120BC. It joined Italy to Spain .Some remains were discovered in 1997 . The Horreum : This is the only remaining building from the Roman era in the city centre.It was used to store goods in the underground galleries .
