Day 1 Mourèze - Aniane

Car rental in Montpellier or Béziers train station. Reach in the early afternoon the village of Mourèze, next to the lake of Salagou.

Dominated by the rocky bar of the Mount Liausson which gives an exceptional panoramic view on the lake of Salagou, discover a landscape worthy of a fairy tale where the dolomite offers true natural sculptures in a chaos of trained rocks.
8km walking, about 2 h 30 – medium difficulty.
 
Road towards Aniane and accommodation in the astronarium of Aniane. Atypical accommodation in form of bubble the roof of which is transparent, you will spend the night to admire the starry sky!

In the morning, discover the underground world by visiting the caves of Clamouse. World famous for the richness of its concretions, spend a magical journey out of time.
Optional: The Speleopark.

Lunch in a restaurant located in a farmhouse offering gourmet dishes elaborated with local produces.

In the afternoon, discover the wines of the region. Visit at your own pace a large park composed of several gardens (French garden, English style garden, vegetable garden...), stroll in the heart of the vineyard following the informative path explaining varieties, soils and plants concerned. Tasting at the end of the visit in the castle.

Return to Aniane in the evening, enjoy an astronomical evening

Day 3 Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert

In the morning, hike on the most famous route around St Guilhem the desert, the path of the Fenestrelles.
This former paved road from the 17th century allowed the mule to reach the plateau of the Larzac.
10km, about 3 hours, of average difficulty.
Tip: Take a picnic with you for a break on the way.
When you return, enjoy the medieval village of St Guilhem before you leave.
Drive to Montpellier or Béziers to Car rental office.
