Day 1 Arrival in Sarlat la Caneda

Arrival in Sarlat and check in at your 3 or 4 star hotel, in the heart of the city of Sarlat, according to your chosen option.

This day will occur on the Saturday of your stay in order to enjoy the market.
Private guided tour of Sarlat la Canéda and the market, a true temple of Perigord gastronomy. In the afternoon, embark on a canoe for the discovery of the Dordogne valley - 16 km trip and about 3 hours. Discover the fauna and flora of the peaceful Dordogne river and its unforgettable villages: Domme, La Roque-Gageac, the castle and gardens of Marqueyssac, the castle and village of Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, the castle of Fayrac, Beynac, to finally reach the castle of Les Milandes, home of Joséphine Baker 

Day2 Day tour in the Dordogne Valley

Day 3 Day tour to Lascaux and Vezere Valley

Departure to Montignac and visit of the Lascaux IV cave. Discover the replicas of the polychrome paintings executed nearly 17,000 years ago. In the afternoon, discover the castle of Losse on the banks of the Vézère, a medieval fortress built in a sheer drop and surrounded by walls and deep moats. It contains an exceptional decoration and furniture from the 16th and 17th centuries. The terraced gardens, labeled "remarkable gardens" are composed of green rooms, a labyrinthine path and an arbour.

Morning discovery of the historical center of Cahors. Discover heritage treasures from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance, without forgetting the famous Valentré Bridge. Departure to the village of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, one of the major sites of the Lot valley. The medieval village has many historical monuments. To finish your day, visit a winery producing Cahors wine.

Day 5 Martel

Departure in the morning for Martel and boarding on the steam train of the high Quercy. A 13 km round trip, at more than 80 meters high, to discover the Dordogne Valley and its wonderful panoramas. In the afternoon, visit the village called "city of seven towers" for a walk in its narrow streets. Admire the covered market place, the Raymondie palace or the Saint-Maur church.

In the morning, visit of a truffle farm with demonstration of cavage followed by a lunch at the truffle farm. In the afternoon, visit of the Roque st Christophe site. This real wall of limestone, one kilometer long and 80 meters high, constantly undermined by the river and the frost, has been dug out with a hundred or so shelters under the rocks and long aerial terraces. These natural cavities have been occupied by man since prehistoric times and then modified to become a fort and a city from the Middle Ages until the beginning of the Renaissance. On the way back, stop at Les Eyzies de Tayac, world capital of prehistory.

Day 7 Day tour To Rocamadour and Padirac

Departure in the morning to the Gouffre de Padirac, the most famous chasm in Europe. Boat ride on the underground river at a depth of more than 130 meters. Departure for Rocamadour. Visit of Rocamadour: clinging to the cliff, this famous village is a superposition of houses and churches, an important center of pilgrimage.

Enjoy your free time in Sarlat-la-Caneda to shop for souvenirs before returning home.
