Day 1 Narbonne – Perpignan

Arrival at noon and lunch in a restaurant in Narbonne or in the surrounds. After the lunch, leave Narbonne to reach Perpignan. Make a stop and visit the museum of Tautavel.
There discover vestiges found out in the coves where the most ancient European man used to live. Wine tasting in the Tautavel wine cellar.

Accommodation in a 3*** in Perpignan. Dinner and night.

In the morning, after leaving your hotel, enjoy a walking guided visit of the French Catalonia and ancient Majorca kingdom capital.
Visit St John Cathedral, the Campo Santo, oldest graveyard of France, the sea merchants Lodge and have a walk into the picturesque Catalan streets.
Then, go toward Collioure, town of the fauvist painters. Matisse and Derain came here and developed their technics inspired by the southern light colours.

Lunch in a restaurant on the port.

Afternoon, go to Banyuls driving along the "Vermeille Coast" and enjoy the panorama over the stony coast.
In the village, visit first the museum dedicated to Maillol's sculptures and then taste local wines.

Dinner and night at the hotel.

Day2 Perpignan – Collioure

Day 3 Saint-Martin-Du-Canigou – Saint-Michel-de-Cuxa

Departure from your hotel to go to St Martin du Canigou, an abbey located on the top of the Canigou mountain. This religious area was a path for the pilgrims going to St James of Compostella.
Walk climbing up to the place (walk for 40 mins, and climb a 0.186 miles of level difference. Possible to book taxi on request). Guided visit of the Romanesque abbey.

Have lunch in a restaurant in Villefranche de Conflent.

Walk into this fortified place by Vauban, and the, reach St Michel de Cuxa, one of the oldest Romanesque abbey in Catalonia.

Return to the hotel. Dinner and night.

In the morning, discover the town of Céret and visit the modern art museum. This area presents masterpiece of famous painters and sculptors whom spent a time in the village during the 20th century (Soutine, Picasso, Brune, Chagall).

Lunch in a restaurant at Elne.

The afternoon, discover the wonderful sculptures of the cloister of the ancient Elne cathedral. Then go to Cabestany and visit the Master of Cabestany Museum.
This sculptor was one of the most prolific but also enigmatic Romanesque art.

Return to Perpignan, dinner and night.

Day 5 Salses-le-Château

Leave Perpignan in the morning to reach Salses le Chateau and visit the old Spanish fortress from the 15th century.

Have a lunch in the surrounds of Narbonne, at the edge of the salt ponds.
