Day 1 Camargue traditions

In the late morning, meet your local guide. Travel to the village of Les Saintes Maries de la Mer for lunch.
This village is very well known in France as a pilgrimage place. Along the road, your guide would talk to you of the Camargue traditions and wildlife.
Brief visit in the village before lunch.

Lunch:  Stop for lunch on Saintes Maries de la Mer Port.

In the afternoon, enjoy a cruise over the Rhône River to discover the fauna and flora. Then walk through the streets of Aigues Mortes, the old port from which crusaders have left for a crusade to Jerusalem.  
Built during the 13th century this port replaced a marshland and became quickly the first royal Port on the Languedoc coast. Let you tell the history of the Crusades and of the Huguenots who were in this city.
Enjoy a short free time to visit the local shops. Do not miss the view over the salt pyramids form the salt manufacturing nearby.
