Maillol, Matisse, Picasso… So many names of artists who lived and worked in this region of the Pyrenees.
The town of Ceret is famous for its cherries but also is for the artists who lived in this city and whose work is preserved in the Modern Art Museum.  
Also follow the steps of the two saints Abdon and Sennen in the charming village of Arles-sur-Tech and the beautiful Saint Mary abbey.

Day 1 Ceret and the Vallespir

In the morning, meet your guide and visit the town of Ceret. Famous for its delicious cherries. In May a festival is dedicated to this regional fruit. Ceret is also stunning for its beauty and the ruins, witness of its history.  
The Devil’s bridge, the remains of battlements, the small squares and picturesque houses add more charm to the town.
Admire the work of talented Artists in The Modern Art Museum such as Picasso, Maillol, Tàpies, Joan Miró or Matisse among all the great names of the 20th century Art. 

Lunch: Lunch in the surrounds.

In the afternoon, drive to Arles sur Tech. The most beautiful building is the Saint Mary abbey. This very ancient place was already known in the 8th century and is part of the northern Catalonia jewels of Romanesque Style Architecture.
Protected by the relics of the two oriental saints Abdon and Sennen, this sacred place is also famous for a mysterious sarcophagus that is field of miraculous water.
End this day by crossing the town of Amelie les Bains, the most important thermal resort in the Oriental Pyrenees.
