Day 1 A journey in Aix-en-Provence

Meet your guide and speaker at Aix-en-Provence and start your visit with the “Cours Mirabeau”. Then, you will discover the wonderful courtyards of hotels particuliers (townhouses), and the magical squares and typical facades of the city. Sculptures, craft doors, ironworks… you will not miss any detail.

You will visit the Cathedral St Sauveur, whose baptistery was built in the sixth century: insides, you will see the masterpiece of Nicolas Forment “Le triptyque du Buisson ardent” (this painting is only visible at certain periods of time).

You will have a short break before lunch, to enjoy traditional markets. We will have lunch in the city center.

On the afternoon, we will visit the Paul Cezanne’s workshop. From 1902 till his death in 1906; Cézanne worked every single morning in this place, characterized by the silence and the light, the cradle of dozens of his masterpieces, now preserved in the most important museums around the world, including “Les Grandes Baigneuses”.
