Day 1 A Medieval day in the Corbieres

In the morning, meet your local guide and start a walking tour through the streets of Lagrasse. Located in the heart of the Corbieres region and on the bank of the Orbieu river, Lagrasse is a famous village, well known for his Benedictine abbey and for preserving is medieval charm.
A stroll in the cobbled narrow streets of the village would let you discover the façades of old medieval houses, walk a little bit along the Orbieu river to admire the remains of the walls…
Before a free time in the village see also the beautiful Saint Michael church. 

Lunch:  Lunch in the medieval village.

In the afternoon, guided visit of the Arques Castle. Discover its history from the 12th century, the daily life and how this castle was built up.
The lords of this place who were in opposition with the Carcassonne viscounts also lived the terrible Crusade against the Cathars, the religion wars and was finally abandoned after the French Revolution.
End this day with a tasting of the famous Limoux sparkling wine.
