Day 1 Montpellier

Arrival to Montpellier in the morning.

Lunch in a restaurant in the city centre. 

Guided tour of Montpellier in the early afternoon: discover private mansions, medieval streets and the famous medicine school.
Accommodation in a 3-star hotel in the city centre.

Dinner and night. 

Departure in the morning toward Avignon to discover a lot of historic buildings: The famous Avignon Bridge, The Dom stone that offers a magnificent panoramic view.

Free time and lunch in the city centre.

The afternoon is dedicated to the Pope Palace one of the most beautiful gothic palace in Europe. On the way back to Montpellier, stop at the Pont du Gard. This aqueduct from the 1st century BC spans the Gardon river.

Day2 Avignon

Day 3 Pezenas – Saint-Guilhem-le-Desert

Today discover the town of Pezenas, place of Art and Craft that used to be an important medieval fair place in Languedoc. Moliere spent a while in there.  
Discover private mansions courtyards the evidence of a prestigious past. Market on Saturday.

Lunch in the town. Then, departure to St Guilhem le desert village. First stop to discover the Devil’s bridge and then reach the village to visit the abbey of Gellone, built during the 8th under the command of Guilhem of Orange.
It is one of the most important Romanesque architecture in Languedoc.
Accommodation in a 3-star hotel in the city centre.

Dinner and night.

Drive to Uzes, the oldest duchy in France. Guided visit of the city and of the medieval covered galleries.  Free time in the city to discover the markets on Wednesday and Saturday.

Lunch in the city centre of Nimes.

During the afternoon guided visit of the roman monuments of Nimes: the amphitheatre, the well-preserved roman temple Maison Carree and the Fountain garden. Accommodation in a 3-star hotel in the city centre.

Day4 Uzes and Nimes

Day 5 Camargue

Departure from your hotel toward the Camargue to discover a traditional Provençal farm, the so-called “Manade”, the Camargue bulls, white horses and the local cowboys named “guardians”.
The farmer will explain you the traditional work around the cattle, the traditional Camargue games and the particularity of the regional landscape.

The lunch will take place in the farm and let you taste regional dishes.
In the afternoon, discover the mediaval town or aigues-Mortes, its remaprts and narrow streets  where many artists exhibits. 
Night and Dinner in Montpellier.

 

 

Depart to Sete to enjoy a magnificient view over the Salt Water lagoon of Thau, The mediterranean and the city. Follow your guide along the port and covered market before having lunch of local specialities. 
In the afternoon, enjoy a cruise on the salt water lagoon of Thau to discover one of the main productions of the area, Oysters.
